We have selected these three wood species as the perfect canvases for our PlankedTops. Stability and hardness are inherent to these wood species. Their variety in grain pattern allows our finishing artists to create the textured surface to build upon and produce our exclusive artisinal finishes.

Artists produce each wood finish by hand using traditional and inventive modern techniques to produce a complex, multi-layered finish worthy of a display at the Louvre. Mottling, antiquing, cerusing and polishing expertise is integrated into many of our finishes. Two generations of master class wood finishers and 50 years of talent will emanate from your PlankedTop wood finish.

Every PlankedTop surface is manipulated by hand to open the wood's grain to enhance its intricate and unique patterns. Two levels of distressing are
available. Light distressing slightly opens the grain and gently works the surface for a more clean and modern appearance. Medium distressing opens the grain fully, and the surfacing techniques softly round edges and hand-planing produces subtle surface undulation for a more classic or transitional appearance.

Sheen brings forward the depth and richness of a wood finish. We have refined two levels of sheen for our PlankedTops. Low sheen was created to produce a look slightly above a matte sheen which reflects a transitional or modern vibe. Medium Polish is a sheen which is moderately reflective and has a warm rich glow. Medium Polish is a chameleon, very versatile and can easily sit in any classical, transitional or modern environment.
